MANITOBA ADVOCATE RELEASES SPECIAL REPORT NATAWIHISOWIN OCI MASKIKIYA (HEALING WITH MEDICINES): FINDINGS FROM THE FIRST 18-MONTHS OF THE SERIOUS INJURY REVIEWS AND INVESTIGATIONS PROGRAM

Today, Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth Sherry Gott released her office’s special report Natawihisowin Oci Maskikiya (Healing with Medicines): Findings from the First 18-Months of the Serious Injury Reviews and Investigations Program, which introduces findings from the Serious Injury Reviews and Investigation during its first 18-months of operation. Since the program launched on July 1, 2023, it has been a legal requirement for any individual who provides a reviewable service (child and family services, adoption, youth mental health, youth addiction, or youth justice services) to report serious injuries sustained by young people to the office.
